Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP)

The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP)- the making of an engineering marvel, claimed as the world’s largest multi-stage and multi-purpose lift irrigation scheme, and also the longest and biggest irrigation system. The project is intended to irrigate over 37 lakh acres of new and existing ayacut, providing drinking water to Hyderabad and villages en route and supplying water for industrial needs by lifting 195 tmc ft of water from the Godavari at 2 tmc ft a day during the flood season.
By lifting one more tmc ft water a day later, the government plans to bring another 8 lakh acres under irrigation.

Amazon opens its largest campus in the world in Hyderabad

Amazon just opened its biggest office building in the world in the Indian city of Hyderabad. Amazon India on 08/21 Wednesday inaugurated the largest company- owned campus, worldwide, in Hyderabad, the only one outside the US.
The e-commerce firm will house more than 15,000 employees out of the over 62,000 members of the India team. The new campus is spread over 9.5 acres, and is its largest tech base outside the Seattle headquarters, which has about 155,000 contract employees. Intel’s 620,000 sq. ft facility is part of Intel’s existing 44-acre campus on Sarjapur Ring Road in the city. More recently, Swedish retail giant Ikea had also opened its first Indian outlet in Hyderabad, which is built over an area of 400,000 sq. feet.
